No trainee writes mail call alone.

FSOK Freedom Writers sends letters of encouragement to U.S. Army trainees at Fort Sill, Oklahoma — and stands behind the families they leave behind. One envelope, one signature, one soldier at a time.

Encouragement, in an envelope.

FSOK Freedom Writers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by a small group of military families and friends. The name carries our mission: Fort Sill, OKlahoma — the U.S. Army post where soldiers go through Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training in some of the loneliest weeks of their lives.

We believe no soldier should stand at mail call without a letter waiting for them. So we write — and we organize others to write. When a trainee's family can't afford to keep the letters coming, we cover the gap. When a trainee needs more than words, we send help home to the people they love.

Our Mission

Encouraging, uplifting, and supporting trainees at Fort Sill — one letter at a time. We make sure every soldier has mail at mail call, and every family has a steady line home.

Our Vision

A country where the gap between a barracks bunk and a kitchen table is closed by a steady stream of letters — and no trainee ever feels forgotten by the civilians they serve.

We are off with a quickness this year. Trainee #1 is fully covered, and donations have been sent to mom.

Service Routes

Four ways we close the distance.

From the mailbox to the kitchen table — the lines that keep a trainee tethered to home.

No. 01 · Letters

The #LettersStrong Campaign

Volunteer writers send mail to trainees at Fort Sill so no soldier walks away from mail call empty-handed. We coordinate addresses, timing, and content guidance so every letter lands.

No. 02 · Sponsorship

Trainee Sponsorship

For trainees whose families can't keep up with the cost of consistent mail, calls, or care packages, we step in. One trainee at a time, fully covered, until they ship out.

No. 03 · Family

Family Support at Home

When a sponsored trainee's family is struggling at home, surplus donations go directly to them — moms, spouses, and kids who carry the weight of a training cycle.

No. 04 · Volunteers

Volunteer Writer Network

We organize civilians, veterans, and military families into a steady writing rotation. New volunteers get matched with a trainee and clear guidance on what — and what not — to send.

Three Ways to Stand

Ten minutes, ten dollars, ten friends.

Pick the one you can do this week. Any of them puts #LettersStrong to work.

Step 01 · Write

Send a Letter

Sign up to be matched with a trainee. We send the address, the timing, and a short guide on what to write — encouragement, normal life, anything but bad news.

Step 02 · Give

Make a Donation

Every dollar covers postage, care packages, or direct support for a sponsored trainee's family. 100% volunteer-run means more of your gift reaches the people we serve.

Step 03 · Share

Spread the Word

Share #LettersStrong with anyone who knows a service member — or anyone who's ever wanted to thank one. Word of mouth is how the next trainee gets covered.
